A controller board can contain several voltage domains even when the external system has one nominal supply. Digital logic, displays, sensors, communication transceivers and interface loads may require different rails. When the customer orders PCBA rather than bare boards, the manufacturing package should define component sourcing, assembly technology and the required test coverage.
